Scholarship Info

About Our Scholarships

When a grant (not exceeding $7,500) is awarded, the aid may be used for tuition at universities, colleges, and technical/trade schools. Funds may also be requested to purchase books, computer equipment, bus passes, special fees or other expenses to enable the student to attend classes. The grant money is paid directly to the institution or organization offering the needed service/supplies and not to the recipient. All expenditures must be preapproved by SOS.

Timeline

SOS' scholarship applications are accepted from March 1 through May 31 each year. Scholarships will be awarded on July 1.

How to Apply

Applications are accepted from adult female residents of Central Ohio who are living at or near the poverty level and are US citizens.
